Beauty and serenity await visitors at Bocamb. The 40 acres of land consist of gently rolling pastures with wide, open spaces. A former horse-breeding facility, the property has plenty of open fields, a mile-long nature trail around the perimeter, and a pond brimming with catfish. Egrets, turkeys, fox squirrels and birds come and go …
Facilities
There are six buildings: Pool House, Main House, Guest House, and three ‘Bunkhouses’ – Gate house, Barn apartment and Bunk house. All buildings have A/C and heat.
Pool/Pool House
The swimming pool is a Bocamb highlight – it is extra large (30 X 15), has plenty of swim up ledges and a diving board. Tenants must provide a Red Cross certified lifeguard for each swim session. The Pool House offers downstairs cooking and eating space and a Chapel upstairs. The kitchen has a 48” professional range with 6 burners and griddle plus dual bake ovens. Other amenities include 97 lb capacity icemaker, microwave, dishwasher, 48” refrigerator/freezer, washer and dryer. Tables and chairs seat 50 indoors; picnic tables outside.
Chapel
The Chapel has an altar, ambo, tabernacle, sacristy, vestments, and all necessities for Catholic Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and Benediction. (monstrance, incensor, incense, etc) Songbooks are available; bring your own Magnificats or Mass readings. Screens and kneelers are available for confession (2 sets). Seats 50 -60.
Pond
Paddleboat holds 2 adults. Feel free to grab a scoop of catfish food from the gazebo if you enjoy feeding the fish. Stations of the Cross surround the pond
Main House and guest house
As the original house on the property, the Main House has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. Normally used for Priests, Brothers, or Camp Administrators. Full kitchen, great room, laundry room. Great room can be used for group talks or presentations. 2552 sf. The Guest House sits behind the Main House and has a great room/living space with one bathroom. Usually used for overflow parent chaperones. Sleeps 4. 440 sf.
Gate House
The Gate House is a 1200 sf home that is a favorite of the campers. It sits right at the entrance to Bocamb and for years was called the blue house! Why we ever painted it beige I do not know : ) ….. The 10 bunkbeds each have drawers under the staircases, and safety rails on the top bunks. Sleeps 20 campers, plus a separate (Safe Environment) chaperone bedroom that sleeps 4. Campers bring their own sleeping bags and linens. Bathroom has 2 toilets, 2 showers, 2 sinks.
Bunk House
The Bunk House is also a camper favorite, with 10 bunkbeds for 20 campers and a Safe Environment separate chaperone room that sleeps 4. The extra large bathroom has 4 toilets, 4 showers and 4 sinks. (1100 sf)
Barn Apartment
The barn apartment (1000 sf) is a bit more rustic sleeping facility that sits atop the 8 horse stalls that are no longer occupied.There are 2 camper rooms with 7 bunkbeds total (14 campers), plus a Safe Environment chaperone room that sleeps 2. There are 2 bathrooms.
